The Rabbit Electric Cocktail Shaker made this syrup/whiskey cocktail a breeze.

To Make:

Mix 2oz Jameson with 3oz Morris Spiced Apple Syrup and 1/2 squeezed lemon
Pour cold hard cider over whiskey stones (about 6oz) in a large glass
Pour whiskey/syrup mixture into cider

Putting on the Glitz!

Make your own glitter glassware

How long does it take?

2-3 hours, depending on number of glasses.

Before you start:

Wash glasses thoroughly and dry completely.

Tape saran wrap over the mouth and base of glassware to protect from the spray sealer that will be applied at the end. Make sure the tape covers the lip of the glass so you won’t apply glitter where your lips will be.
Lay out craft tape on cutting mat and cut in half to create stripes of varying thickness.
Tape stripes onto glass, alternating thick and thin stripes with varied spacing.
Select your colors and apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the glass for the first color. Make sure the layer is as thin as possible and try not to get too much Mod Podge on the tape.
Sprinkle glitter onto Mod Podge, catching the excess on a clean sheet of paper (you can funnel it back into the jar). Repeat steps 4 and 5 for as many colors as you will be using on the glass. Add a second coat if necessary before the first coat dries completely. Use a spoon to apply glitter more accurately when stripes are close together.
Before the Mod Podge has the time to dry completely, put on disposable gloves and spray Glitter Blast Clear Sealer according to directions on the can. Make sure you do this in a well ventilated area and cover the glass completely. This will prevent the glitter from coming off later- the more coats, the longer they will last.
Remove tape immediately- if you allow to dry fully before removing the tape the stripes won’t come out as clean. Use your craft knife to carefully peal up part of the tape if it is stuck.
Let dry completely before using and hand wash only.

Looking for a way to entertain young ones during the long turkey dinner? We found a great idea on thekitchn.com

Set up a turkey cupcake decorating station to keep kids occupied while the grown ups enjoy the dinner you’ve worked so hard to prepare. And waiting to finish the cupcakes ensures they won’t all be eaten before the real turkey is done!

Prep:

Bake chocolate cupcakes and let cool. Frost ahead of time with a thin layer over the entire cupcake and two “globs” for the head and tail. Set out with bowls of candy corn for the tail and beak, chocolate sprinkles for feathers, and a mini tube of white frosting for the eyes (don’t forget a sprinkle for the pupil). Adorable and delicious!

Meet Caitlin, creator of Style Within Reach and Lianne, the mind behind . The Makeup Girl. They are two new additions to the BlogHer Style Squad, women who represent our network of thousands of blogs and influencers, and help get out the good word about looking great. And I’m Stacy, editor in chief of BlogHer, the largest community and network of women using social media in the U.S., reaching over 50 million women a month. I’m also a seriously distinguished online shopper. (Ask my neighbors! The boxes, they never stop.)

To kick off our very exciting partnership with Joyus and BlogHer’s Style Squad—look for Joyus videos in BlogHer TV!— I sat down with these two to have an invigorating chat about why we all love living the online fashion & beauty life.

Stacy: Let’s talk about style. What is it that you love so much about it?

Caitlin: Everyone has her own unique sense of it—style really makes who you are as a person. That goes from what you wear to how you style your hair to what furniture you have in your house what pictures you hang on your walls. That’s what makes style so fun and exciting for me—it’s an expression of who I am that I get to put on every day.

Stacy: Couldn’t agree more! Lianne?

Lianne: Style is not about whatever is the “latest,” because I’ve seen people walk around in, say, studded shoes, and look completely uncomfortable. So style is also about authenticity and being true to yourself and what YOU really like to wear, and about not really giving a *beep* about what anyone else thinks about that.

Stacy: At BlogHer, we believe style comes from within; it’s not something that you apply from without. It isn’t about “What’s cool out there that I should have wear or be?” It’s more about where do you feel that internal spark and feel like you just have to have it?

Lianne: I agree with that. And some of that comes with age and wisdom. Though I’ve certainly seen young women who have that great style, and they own it.

Stacy: I happen to be an absolutely huge online shopper, literally almost 90 percent of everything I buy is purchased online: groceries, furniture, fashion, beauty, shampoo and soap, pots, pans, boyfriends. I get it all online. What are your favorite things to buy online?

Caitlin: I love browsing online.

Lianne: Oh, I love sale shopping online.

Caitlin: Yes!

Lianne: I like sale shopping, shoe shopping, finding obscure things on eBay…

Caitlin: I lived in New York City for many years, and now I don’t live close by some of my favorite stores, like Zara. That’s one way shopping online has really been so helpful for me.

Stacy: Let’s talk about the pieces you love on Joyus.

Caitlin: I love the faux leather tee. Leather’s so big for fall and at the same time, it’s always a classic. So when you find a piece like that shirt that’s so simple, but updated, I think it’s a good investment piece. It’s a great way to wear the trend. And I know I’ll wear it forever.

Lianne: For me, it’s all about the Moroccan Beauty Secret: Argan Oil. I am a huge fan of anything with Argan Oil because my hair is color treated. I like to put it on my ends of my hair to keep it moisturized. And also, I’m always on the lookout for a great brush that can do double duty, so I really want to try the Secret Weapon For Fabulous Hair, which can be used for styling and maintenance. This brush looks like it would do the trick!

Slim Down Your Suitcase

We can’t lie. We’re bad packers. No matter how hard we try, there’s just never enough room for all of our clothes, shoes, hair supplies, makeup…the list goes on. However, here are 5 tips collected from the Joyus team about how to actually fit into your luggage.

1. Pack clothes that match and go heavy on neutrals. That way you can mix and match items in your suitcase without having to pack complete outfits for each day of your trip.

2. Wear your biggest items. Don’t try to stuff boots or a coat into your suitcase. Wear it on the plane!

3. Make a list. Get organized, and you’ll be surprised at how much room you’ll free up.

4. Glad Press and Seal. Instead of including a bulky bottle, create individual use toiletries. Just squirt one shower’s worth of shampoo or face wash onto a sheet of press and seal, lay another sheet on top and seal all the way around. Throw a bunch into a ziplock bag, and you’ve saved loads of space.

5. Limit shoes. They are space stealers. You don’t need them all. Just pick a few versatile ones.

And if all else fails… do the sit (on your suitcase) and zip!
